A good read about second chance love and handling trauma with a military as the back drop of this story. I know nothing about active military service so I can't speak on the accuracy of her writing. The plot twist made me cry.
Iron Flame

A great follow up to Fourth Wing and how Violet and Xaden navigate their relationship after he leaves Basgiath and Violet finding her place in the revolution with all the new knowledge she found out at the end of FW and learns in IF. The adults and parents of the riders who hold higher rankings added more depth to the story with the lies they perpetuate for what they believe is for the greater good. I'm so glad I was wrong about Violet's mom.

It was impossible for me to put the book down once I started. Violet and Xaden are great thought out characters and the side characters are just as enjoyable. Chapter 36 destroyed me and the cliff hanger wasn't expected. I love the strong personalities of the dragons and also love the banter Violet would have with Tairn.
Mr. Big Shot

Story was fast paced and probably too fast paced. A lot of repetitive wording that gave me the ick like “a cool billion” or “pretty little thing.” The back and forth of being together and not being together was overdone. The ending was a speedrun and her ex finding her was not written well, and the fake out of the mom not responding and Alexa was thinking Blaine had attacked them but she was just gardening.
The Unwanted Bride by Nadia Lee

I enjoyed the pace of the story progression, it wasn’t slow or too fast and I quickly became immersed in the story. The Huxley family were all very likable and protective based on their family motto “Pietas et unitas” (Loyalty and unity) and the Webber family were all very terrible people. The only part I didn’t overly enjoy was the revenge arc to Peter and Viv since it felt a little absurd considering what they did as revenge is definitely illegal. I sobbed reading Grace realizing she gained a family and shockingly didn’t expect the plot twist but glad they had their happily ever after.
