A note: I am not a person hard to please with movies. Unless it's actually really bad. These are mostly movies I watch in theater.

HIM Me and N saw the trailer for this movie before Weapons and I honestly didn't think much of it. So going in I was pretty neutral but didn't have low hopes either because it's a Jordan Peele produced movie. The movie is basically based around the idea of cults being the reason of success and idolism of football G.O.A.TS and it's an interesting connection knowing goats being associated with demons. My favorite scene is his training and we start to view the scene through the lens of an x-ray. It was so visually cool and interesting. Also they played "AIGHT" by Carl Angelo during one of the scenes. Literally so sick to hear tagolog in a movie like this. |

The Conjuring: Last Rites As someone that did not enjoy the last Conjuring movie, I think this movie was a good comeback. The fiction parts of the movie had a good storyline. The scary scenes were scary and not entirely predictable and I liked the addition of an older Judy more pertinent to the film. I loved that they brought back characters from the past films too. |

weapons This was such a good movie. It was one of those movies I went in with little knowledge except for a short trailer on Tiktok of the kids running away. I didn't expect the multiple POVs but I actually found it to work really well for the story. Overall the movie had an interesting parallel to school shootings without the shooting but moreso around the feeling of the loss after. The ending was honestly comedic and a nice ode to The Shining in one scene. |
